A blog (a contraction of the term "weblog") is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.
We all are familiar with blogs now thanks to whats her face from "Sex and the City", although I;m pretty sure the TV show "Doogie Howser M.D" debuted some kid expressing his thoughts on a computer, keeping an electronic diary if you will. In any event, here I am along with all of you sharing stories, thoughts, anecdotes and feelings. Its funny though, weren't diaries meant to be sacred? Private? Wasn't it, at one point in our younger years, the holiest of holy books? A guide to all our dirty little secrets? I remember the desire of getting your hands on one from the girl you thought was cute in school was almost as strong as getting your hands on some nudie mags!
Its cool though, saves money on a shrink I guess. What I mean is, if typing out our thoughts and posting them for the world to see stops us from going postal or cutting someone off in traffic then power to us and this computer magic. Stay tuned...I'm sure Ill have more to say soon.
